Travel to India on I 551 stamp

Hi Guys,
My wife is travelling to India with just the I 551 stamp on her passport because she hasnt received the Plastic card yet. Is it OK or are there any complications while returning ?

It is a temporary green card!!!! It functions like regular greencard. The difference is that the validation of the stamp is a year. You and your wife are pemanant residents.....

May need tranist visa if travelling through UK, in the absence of plastic card.
