travel to India (H1 will be expire soon and haven't heard about AP)

Hi,
My wife and daughter are going to India on Nov 10th and coming back on Feb21 03.
My H1 visa is going to expire in this month end .We have an EAD and Advance payrole.
Does she need any Transit VISA as there is stop at Paris?I heard that if your VISA is expired
, u should carry Transit VISA eventhogh you have AP.
I am not sure about.
Please tell me the right scinario.

If u have applied for 485 and have the AP document it is absolutely essentila she carries that before she leaves. Otherwise ur H1 should be valid and her H4 also should be valid. I do not know anything about the transit visa. U need to call up the airline and find out. In fact I am leaving on Friday and I called the airline an dthey told me no transit visa is required provided I do not leave the airport. I am of course carrying my AP documents..

I think you always need a transit visa for France - even if have a valid H1/AP.
You may want to call Air-France (or Delta) and confirm.

This applies to all Indian citizens except Greencard Holders. If your
flight has stop-over at any of European Union countries, like
France, sweden, austria, germany, switchzerland etc.then you need to obtain AIRPORT TRANSIT VISA from the consulate of the country where you have flight stopover.

This new rule came into effect on march 19th 2002 , and so many travel
agents are unaware of this new rule. If you don't obtain such
airport-transit visa, you will not be allowed to board the flight.

Nope you don't require a visa when you going to India via Paris.

I went to India on 5/26 and came back India on 7/4/02. Earlier there was rules, But as of 5/7/02 they don't require tansist visa for France, If you are Indian Passport Holder and has valid Visa or Travel Document for USA.

Please call Delta or France embassy, They will tell you exactly as of today.
