Do conditional green card holders need to apply for a travel document to visit family for few weeks? My question basically is would I have to go to the embassy to get back to US?

THANK YOU

permission from the US or the country you are visiting?

Reentry Permit after GC

Recently I applied for reentry permit for my daughter. After which I came to know, since March 2008 a new rule is in effect that for all reentry permits biometrics need to be taken eventhough you have GC. Now my daughter is leaving to India in June, I am worried what will happen if the biometric appointment comes after she leaves. Is there any solution? Please advise.

Either one. On the USCIS website it says that CGC holders have all the rights of the regular GC holders? And that includes traveling without the need to apply for the permission. Hope this made it a bit clear

Thank you

You already know the answer!

CGC's are as good as PGC's, only that they have to apply to remove conditions before the end of two years. I know ppl who traveled overseas on CGC's and never had a problem returning to the US. They DO NOT need a separate visa to enter the US.

I'm quite certain on this, but if you need additional validation, you should ask a lawyer in a one-time consultation.

I have a CGC and I have traveled out of the country and back in several times without any problems. Carry the card with you as they'll ask for it on re-entry.
