Travel with AP Question?

I have a pending I-485 and have received my EAD/AP. I'm planning to drive to canada for vacation, I have documents for entering canada. While driving back to USA I'm planning to use AP.

1. Just wondering if there will be any issues while using AP when I drive back by road to the US? My H1B stamping has expired and I would have to enter USA based on AP. Have seen friends using AP when they fly, but wanted to make sure if it's OK when we drive?

I am also planning to drive to canada on AP.

I just have a copy of I-485 receipt. The lawyer has the original I-485 receipt.
Is it OK if I travel with copy of I-485 receipt, or, original receipt is required ?
