Travel outside US and rentery on OPT

I got my F-1 visa from my home country in 2002. It was for 5 years expiring in July 2007. I completed my masters and now I am on OPT which will expire on May 31st 2006. I am working right now in a state agency and will apply for my H-1 visa soon. I wanted to ask if I can travel on my OPT to my home country. Is it allowed to travel and come back to USA on OPT. I have heard that you can travel on your OPT as long as you have a stamped F-1 issued from your home country. However, its printed on my OPT that its not a valid for reentry to USA.
 
You can travel outside US while u r on OPT...if u have a job offer in hand in USA...but u cannot reenter the US just on the basis of ur OPT card.
I wud suggest...do not travel unless it is really imp.
