Travel outside of USA and apply TD during TN -> H1B

Wondering if there will be any problems if I travel during the Application process of TN -> H1B when I am in TN status.
Also, my spouse will be applying for TD visa due to wedding date falling in May will it affect the application if I ask my employer to file for H1B in April ?
 
There is no problem travelling while your I-129 is in process (or approved) since it is your employer's petition. Your spouse should pursue the visa corresponding to your current status (TD for now), and when you become H1-B, she can apply for H4 status from within US at that time.
