Travel out of US

Hi:

My I-485 is pending more than 180 days and I was laid off last month. I have both EAD and AP. I am sill looking for IT job which is hard right now. My question is can I go out of US for 2 weeks or so with AP even without job with I-485 Pending ? I am afraid that when I return, the border guys will ask for employment status.

Unless it is very urgent, I will not take the chance of getting out of USA at this moment. Normally the immigration officer will not ask you for employment letter or anything that sort but you can not predict anything in this difficult time. Talk to a lawyer and try to get more responses. Make your own wise decision.

1 don’t take the risk
2 if employer revokes I-140 then you may have problems to enter.
At this time Consulates, POE inspectors can ask for any document
