Hi,
I have a question:
My husband is American citizen works in Russia, has a contract for 2 years.
I am LPR and my green card expired and I reapplied for removing conditions,
but did not get a new one and I got back only the letter, that says that my
case is on file and it will be taken care of when I return.
I have a valid re-entry permit, valid until 2008, May.

My question is: when we travel back to US this summer will I be able to pass
the border control both in Russia and US by showing valid re-entry permit?

If no, what shall I have in order to pass it? What documents, and where to
apply for them?

Thanks,
lel

yes, since you are still a resident. However, if you were gone for less than a year, you won't even need a reentry permit to reenter.

You will, however, have a huge problem on your hands, if an interview will be scheduled for you to remove conditions and you do not show up for an interview. Or if you get an RFE and do not reply within a certain period. Or if your interview/RFE notice gets lost. Your GC will be cancelled.

That stands for Request for Evidence, This is a letter you get from USCIS in which they ask you to send some paper to prove something.
