Travel on H1b when I-485 pending??

Hello,

I am a physician from Lebanon.
I hold a valid H1b visa and stamp on my passport.
I have the labor certificate and I-140

I have just submitted the I-485 for adjustment of status. (EB-2) status. I am in the US right now.

Can I travel outside the country while my I-485 is pending?

If it's ok to travel, do i need to submit the new I-94 card given to me when I entered the US?

--- do you mean you have Valid H1 Visa stamp in your passport? What is the expiry date on H1 Visa stamp?

--------- Have you or your lawyer who submitted the I-485 get the I-485 filing Receipt from USCIS??

-------------- if you have Valid H1 Visa stamp and it does not expire when you come back to US and has H1 job with US employer then you can go out and Enter on H1 status

If it's ok to travel, do i need to submit the new I-94 card given to me when I entered the US?
---- When you depart the US you should surrender I-94 at Airline counter.( Make Copy of I-94 front and Back and keep it for your records)

my H1 visa was already renewed and stamped and expires in 2014.

I-485 already submitted and receipt available..

about the i-94 card, when i come back into the US and a new I-94 is given to me, does USCIS want a copy of that new i-94 card?

----- When you Depart US you are supposed to surrender your I-94. When you enter US you will get New I-94. When you Enter you dont face USCIS you face CBP and they dont need COPY of Old or New I-94. The I-94 you submit when you go out of US that I-94 goes to USCIS and they enter your departure in USCIS records.
