Travel on H1 after Travelling on AP

I have made multiple trips out of the US and have used AP to come back. My current AP expires in a few days and although I had applied to renew my AP I have not heard from USCIS. I also have a H1 visa stamp in my passport that is valid till May 2007.
My company wants me to travel to Europe on business for a week. My question is:
1. Can I use my stamped H1 visa to re-enter the US even though I have used AP before ? Will this cause any problems at the port of entry ?
2. Will doing this cause any issues when the time comes to approve my green card ?

------------not a problem, you will get I-94 till Visa stamp expiry date

** I dont understand why you used AP in past when you were having Valid Visa stamp in your passport.
