Travel on AP

Hello All,

My son (a US citizen) has applied for a greencard for me (AOS after entering on B-2 and deciding to stay). I now need to go back to India to wrap up some of my stuff there.

Is it safe to travel on AP - I browsed this forum and saw posts of folks being harassed when they reenter on AP?

Will my prior B1/2 status cause any issues when I re-enter the US on AP?

Usually, how long is considered "okay" to to be out of the country on AP? I'd like to be in India for 4 months.

If I get an interview for GC while I'm away from US, is it fairly easy to reschedule that interview.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

You should be safe to travel on an AP. Did you accrue any overstay? In other words, was your AOS submitted after your B-2 I-94 expired? If so, was this period more than 6 months?

A visit of 4 months should not be an issue.

I would advise you to make the interview date. Rescheduling should only be done in a life/death emergency.
