Travel on AP.

Hello everyone.
Just wanted to write my experience with travel on AP.
Before I left US: First,I made sure that I will travel through a country that does not require an "air transit visa" (traveled on KLM through Netherlands's) as these countries would like to see a valid stamped visa on passport, which i did not have, i was going to India after five years, so I had an approval but not a stamped visa on passport. Anyway this is good enough, but if i happened to meet some one, who does not understand this, I though it was better to avoid a situation like that then try and explain him/her.
second, I took my approval letter, my EAD and AP along with me.
Back to US: I filled out the I94 on the flight, I94 specifically asks for in which city visa was issued and what is the expiry date. As I did not have a stamped visa, I was not sure what to write, so i asked an air hostesses and she said that usually she saw people writing the latest stamped visa dates on the I94, but she again said that immigration people will help you when you are at the counter. I took her word and filled in my latest stamped visa dates and stood in a line ( for visa holders) a good lady at the counter looked at my I94, passport and then AP asked me to look at the camera and also took my finger print. She directed me to another counter, this guy looked at my AP and I94, then looked at my passport and matched the passport # on the I94, and stamped on the I94, which states as AOS, (probably adjustment of status) and wrote the issue date and expiry date of my AP on I94, separated the lower portion, which he kept and gave the upper portion along with my passport, he said he needs to take a photocopy of the AP, he came back after few minis and gave me AP with the same stamp that was on my I94. That is it, he said have a nice day, I walked off. It was very easy, he did not ask any questions at all. The reason I took the EAD was, I read it in some of these forums that some times when you show your AP, they would ask to see your EAD too. But this guy never asked me about the EAD, nor did he asked about the visa date. So over all it was a smooth process.
I hope this will be of some use to any of us who are traveling on AP.
good day
Rama
