Is the company holding the H1B responsible for reimbursing travel expenses incurred to the homeland? Is there a statute of limitations for this? I was laid off in August and a petition to adjust status was denied. Is the company still legally entitled to reimburse me?

Adjustment Denial

Apparently, there is no grace period for filing for adjustment. In my case I applied on the 10th day after my lay-off to adjust from H1 to H4. The actual reason given is that I applied for adjustment after the status (h1) expired.

Oh...bad luck dude..I was laid off on 31stDec. Iam planning to apply for H-1 to H-1 adjustment before jan 10th. Do you think I would be okay?My company told me they would not be informing the INS until 30 th of jan. I heard from a friend that he had a similiar problem converting to H-4 . I think the problem is if you are trying to convert to H-4. Nevertheless are you planning to get stamped in india?
