Travel during I485 pending OK?

My I485 application is pending, is it OK to travel out of the country?
I have a valid H visa. I also have valid AP, but I don\'t want to use it.
The main question is - what happens if the I485 is approved when I am abroad? Will there be any difficulty at the point of entry?

OK to travel.

I used my AP instead of a new H1B (had single entry H1B). At the port of entry (11/14/01): no problem at all. My case was actually approved on 11/13/01, 1 day before my entry with me knowing about it.

Enjoy your trip! Either H1B or AP woudl be fine.
