Travel Document Consular Processing

Hello All!

I have a question and I hope some has a similar experience with an answer.

I have a 245(i) case. In short, I was illegal in this country and back in 2001 there was a "exception" for people who were like me - employed full time that they could apply for a GC trough employment. My details in my signature.

My question: My son is still back home and I'd like to apply for I-131 Travel Document for him base on my pending I-485. Is this doable?

My attorney denies the possibility, but then again she doesn't deal with overseas/consular processing etc.

Please advise.

first of all the I-131 is for people who are here and want to go back home for a short time

that way you can go home and visit him.

since you have filed the i-485 already I think he might be able to come here based on that but I am really not sure

good luck to you

This was my understanding as well, but in the application I see check box "I am applying for an advance parole document for a person who is outside the US" and then you provide his/her name as well as where to send it to American Embassy city/country.

Does any one know what this is?

As far as coming here based on I-485, not possible since he's not present at here. He can come after my I-485 is approved.
