Travel After Citizenship

I am planning to move to another country for 2 yrs after getting US citizenship. Is there any restriction around this? Do I have to stay for a particular amount of time or can I leave right after I get my US citizenship? Please advise

It is a requirement to leave with a US passport in posession, but it can only be enforced on the way back in. So if the OP settles in a different country outside the US, he can then apply for a US passport at the nearest US consulate and return on that without a problem.

On the way to the airport dont forget to pick up your new passport though :D

Hmmmm.... That will probably not work legally if the OP (who I am 99% sure is originally from India) wants to live in India. His Indian passport is invalid as soon as he becomes a US citizen, so he will not have a valid travel document.

If he wants to live in a different country, he still does not have a legally valid travel document, so how is he going to get on a flight, unless he tries to use his invalid Indian passport?

Now it could be different if he has a passport from another country such as UK, Canada or Pakistan, in which case he would still have a valid travel document.

You are correct. I made the assumption that the OP will not lose his "older" citizenship upon becoming a US citizen.
