Trasfered to local office now

Hi Miguelerik,
Thanks alot for your response, really really appreciate it.
1. If you can also let us know when you received this letter of transfer would be great. As we(me and my spouse) received this on 30th Dec 2004, not sure if I should give them call for update. As per my previous references it takes 4 - 6+ months for interview letter or any thing as such.
2. If you can also let me know the timespan between the Interview letter and interview will help.
IF you can update would really help.
Thanks again.

Transfer Letter

Inforeq,

I received a letter from INS around October 20th letting me know that on October 14th, they have transferred my case to Philadelphia local office for faster processing. I called my Lawyer and he told me that one reason they transferred it to a local office is that, I will require an interview. I'm like "great...another hurdle". After 60 days of not hearing back from Philadelphia Local Office, I've decided to call the INS 1-800 number. I told them that my I485 receipt date is Sept 2002 and Philadelphia Local Office at that time is processing Sept 2003. If you think about it, processing for my receipt date have passed. The officer decided to open an inquiry and sent it to Philly office. She advised me that if 30 days have passed and I have not received any reply from Philly office, I should call back again and they can send another inquiry request. 30 days have passed, no letter or anything. I called again and this time she told me that NSC will have to send 3 inquiry request to Philly office before they can even act on my case. She sent another inquiry and after 10 days, I finally got a notice of interview via the mail. I received the notice around February and my interview date was March. Went to my interview and got my case approved.

All I can say is that, since your transfer date is December, I think what you need to do is check the processing date of the local office where they transferred your file. If your receipt date is over due, call INS and request for an inquiry. It might speed up the process.

Goodluck and let us know when you get your letter of interview. You will get approved!!!
