Translator??

My birth certificate is in Hindi and doesnot have my name on it. My parents sent me an affidavit on a stamp paper (notarized), stating my birth details. The affidavit is in English.

NOw, my lawyer is saying that the birth certificate itself needs to be translated from Native language to English.

My question is, are there any INS recognized translators in the Bay area, California. So, that I dont need to get it done from India?

Secondly, is there any said format for the translation?

Anybody can give a translation. See INS website (FAQ- translation) and other immigration sites (immihelp) for format.
