Guys, anyone travelled to INDIA by lufthansa on AP with expired H1 and valid EAD with connecting flight in Frankfort Germany? Do I need a Airport transit Visa? any information is very appreciated, since i am getting very conficting information from different sources

I am in the same situation. I called Lufthansa and confirmed this, YOU DON\'T NEED TRANSIT VISA if you just travel thru germany. If you plan to stay 24 hours or more you need transit visa.

To confirm this, better call Lufthansa and talk to yourself.

I heard they had withdrew the Transit Visa condition after pressure from the airlines. But check it out its the word of mouth from my friend
 
One of my fried is leaving to India on 04.26.2002, he will be

travelling with expired L1 visa and going thru Frankfurt. I will post the details once he reaches to India.

I sent an e-mail to german consulate with my status, they replied that I do need a Airport transit Visa.
 
Transit Visa not required...

I just spoke to German Consulate in Atlanta. The frontline reps told me that I need a Airport transit Visa, then I requested her to connect me to a Visa Information Officer, she did and I explained her about the situation then she told that I don\'t need a Aiport Transit Visa if i have a AP and not getting out of the transit area. This is the final answer. My travel Agent is also said the same thing. This is what I collected. Follow your own information.

As far as i know my friends trip to india was delayed at the atlanta
airport as his visa stamp had expired and he was planning to revalidate his visa in india . He was asked to take a german transit visa and thus his travel was delayed by a few days . he was not planning to leave the airport . this happened in april 2002 .

just my 2c . check before you make any travel arrangements .
