Transit Visa - Via London travel on AP.

1) Can somebody tell me, is transit visa required if we travel on AP via London.

2) If so how long it will take for to get the visa?

3) Anybody took visa in Washington dc embassy recently?

It took me 2 hours.

It was in NYC.

When you say 2 hrs, do we need to personaly go there to NewYork?
Is there any appointment needs to be taken?
I live in Washington D.C what are my options..!!!

My wife is travelling on AP via London. She got her transit visa via mail within a week.
These are the steps:
go to this link...this is called e-fasttrack application.
1) https://www.britainusa.com/ukvisas/

enter all the information
You can pay by credit card. visa charge + return shipping via fedex charge.

Make sure you printout the submitted form and the receipt after you make payment.

You will also have to enclose "ORIGINAL" of your proof of status here inthe US.
In my wife's case I enclosed one original AP and her EAD card along with the passport + the copy of the online application form and receipt of payment.
I used Fedex to send the documents ( the UK consulate address will be on the copy of the application form that you will print out)
We got her passport stamped with UK transit visa within a week.

I dont think I have that much turn around time (planning to travel by 1st week of June)


Do you know any other countires like France (Paris- Air france), Germany (Frnakfurt- Lufthansa), Netherlands (Amesterdam - KLM/NW) etc..need tarnsit visa if we travel on AP ?

As far as I know ..
You dont need transit visa if you ar flying Lufthansa via Frankfurt
Alitalia via Milan
not sure about KLM via Amesterdam ?
Best way to check that is call their respective cosulates here in US.

This transit visa shit is required by UK just to make the US happy...

Travel to INDIA using AP

Hi All,
I have the same situation .
I dont have valid H4 and I am using EAD and AP for travel to INDIA.
I am planning in june 1 week .
So If i am going via London do i need a transit Visa?
if so how do i get the Transit Visa.??

My wife & kid are travelling to India next week and returning in Oct 1st week. She has a valid h4 stamp on passport till the 31st October. She is travelling via London. Does she need to have transit visa as I have not applied for one.

If one has a valid visa stamped on the passport one does NOT require a transi visa through London. Your wife should be all set.
