Transit Visa required?

I am travelling through India. My H1-B has expired and I will be going on to get my H1-B stamped.

1. Do I need a transit visa for Paris?

2. Do I need a transit visa for Amsterdam?

I do not know about Amsterdam, but I went through Paris in January and no visas were required. I flied through Air-France.

usually transit visa is not reqd if you are returning from US to your country.
also france, netherlands, etc. countries come under what are known as schenegen states and the rules are the same for all such countries. check with the embassy site to be sure.

ATV not required in AMS for Indians

The website of the Netherlands embassy in New Delhi at the following link:

says the following:

An Airport Transit visa is not required for Indian Passport holders.
##UNQUOTE

In addition, I know someone with an Indian passport who flies via Amsterdam every six months.

Of course, you should call local KLM/Northwest office to confirm this.
