transit visa -London

I just got I-551 stamped in my passport after IV visa interview. I am leaving for India tomorrow to attend an important family matter. My return trip is through London. Do I need a transit visa since I do not have a Green Card yet? On British Consulate web site, they said green card holders of US do not need a transit visa. But do they consider my 551 stamp and allow me to pass through London?

The one you have stamped in your passport is your green card. I dont see any problem in your travel thru london.
