Transferring H1 multiple times

hello Gurus,

I recently got laid off from a company B. I'm thinking of joining this contract-to-perm position on the staffing agency's (company C) H1 that actually found me the job.

One of my previous employers (company A) owns a consulting firm that I used to work for. He has told me that he hasnt cancelled my H1 after I left and is still valid.

So I assume, I can start working at the place which company C found for me on company A's H1 and not transferring company B's H1 to company C.

If in the future I want to join some other employer (company D), can this H1 be transferred again? This H1 was transferred once to my most recent employer (company B).

Thanks in advance.

If C did not file petition, you can not start working for company C. If you use A's H1, you need to work for A.
And being told so many times, there is NO "transfer" of H1. All the H1 is new petition and only difference between initial H1 and "transfer"ed H1 is whether it comes under quota or not. If D wanted to file H1 for you , they can do it.
