transfer to National Center

I received notices from Nebraska center today for both my wife's and my cases. It says that ' This ist o advise you that in order to speeed processing we have transferrred the above case to the following INS office for processing: National Records Center, Lee Summit, MO".

What's the meaning of this message? Our cases ND is June 2002. Does it mean that they are about to process our cases?

I am EB 1-3 category and residence is in Michigan. So i am really curious why they sent my case to MO. Sounds interesting but hopefully it won't mess up anything.

Following is the message posted on the online status:

On April 17, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to another BCIS office for processing. They will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete.

Is there anybody that has the similar situation of case being transferred to MO? Do you know normally how long it take to process in MO?

I got the same notice from NSC. My lawyer told me another guy from him was in the same ship. Any news?

I don't understand why National Records Center. Is it the same office of INS Missouti Service Center? or a mistake transfer?

Mine has been transferred as well. So far I have seen people with RD ranged from Mar, 2003 to Sep, 2003 being transferred. They are in different EB catagories too. However, not everybody in NSC has been transferred. Hope we will get more information soon.

The National Records Center (at Lee's Summit, MO) was set up to store all immigration documents collected in about 80 BCIS offices across the country. There was no indication from the BCIS that adjudications would be done from this center. Does this mean that they are going to (or already have) staff this center with adjudicating officers?

Interesting, looks like finally BCIS after restructuring is taking steps to expedite (rather improve) the 485 processing. Could everyone who got transfer notice post RD and ND details? This will help us determine the data trend.
