Gurus, My case was transfered to local INS office on 09/17/2004.

Can you please help me with these questions:

1. When can I expect an interview?
2. I haven't worked for the sponsoring company (never).
Can this be a reason for rejecting my 485 application?

Thanks in advance,

- Sean

There's local posting for processing dates, I believe you can check it at uscis.gov. I think you might get called within 2 months.

I doubt that is the reason, but on the interview, they will ask you details about the sponsoring company, plus an EVL, paychecks and possibly the financial data to verify employment stability. They may ask you for you tax returns, w2s etc.

That's all they may ask for (again, from what I've read around here)

What is you plan for action? Are you using AC21, or same sponsoring company?

Thanks for the rerply.

I'm planning to say, "I never worked for the sponsor but, will do after GC is approved".

I'll have to see the interview letter to plan better.

What you are saying is, "NOT working for Sponsor" will/should not be a problem.

I'll keep searching this and other forums.

No, I'm not saying that. I can't give you a legal advise on that, or anything else. I've seen people here use AC21 and switch employers, after 180 days. But if you never worked in the sponsoring company, that's a whole other story, that I've never heard of before.
Make sure you post what you find out, and expecially after the interview.

Patcha_card,

How do you know your case was transfered to Local Office? You got email or the online status said that?

Appreciate your input.

Thank you for you reply. Do you have attorney? check with your attorney first on your strategy for the interview.

Help!!

Any other ideas or suggestions

Please help!

Any RFE?

Did the INS issue any RFE for empl. letter first before transferring your case to local office OR did they transfer it directly without an RFE?

Also, did you get married around the time you filed your I-485?

My case was transfered without RFE.

did you get married around the time you filed your I-485? NO

Thanks,
Sean
