HI MY CASE WAS TRANSFERED TO ATLANTA AFTER PRLIMINARY PROCESSING.IN AUG/99.SAYING LOCAL INS OFFICE WILL SEND ME AN APPOINTMENT FOR INTERVIEW.ANYBODY IN THE SAME BOAT?ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES?

Venkatesh, thanks for posting the information. Could you please post more details about yourself such as:
EB category, PD, 485 RD, 485 ND, any RFEs etc., Are you in a special kind of scenario where INS needs to talk to you before approving or it is a straight forward case.

ImmiTracker.com is trying to track various local transferes. If all you post the Transfer City, date and Interview date(if any) it may help all of us to keep track of the progress.
"Local transfer" reports are available from each (NSC, VSC &TSC) tracker home page.
Site also has a "Local Transfer" discussion chat forum too.

I RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF CASE.I WENT TO SEE THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER AT ATLANTA.THE ATMOSPHERE THERE SUCKS.THE ONLY RESPONSE I GOT IS ,THEY WILL PROCESS/INTERVIEWTHE CASES ON RD BASIS.THEY ARE GOING TOPROCESS JAN 98 CASES IN JAN.THEY ARE NOT PROCESSING ANYTHING NOW.EXPLAINS THEY ARE UNDER STAFFED.DON\'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. Same Here, my case was transferred from VSC to Atlanta Office on 4/6/2000. Went to the local INS office Some time in September 2000 Immigration officer told they were processing October 1997 cases.
Did you hear anything from the local INS office recently.
