Transfer of I-485 from NBC to DO?

Hi guys,

I was just curious if my I-485 Application is at Memphis DO or still under processing at NBC. Is there any way i can know it??
Can i schedule an infopass appointment at my DO to inquire about status of my case like name check etc??

I was more curious bcoz me and my wife are planning to go to India in November for 2 months!!!! Anybody having any experience or knowledge??

I'm not sure, but I believe that since I got my interview letter from the NBC, that that's when they transfer your I-485 to your local DO, where you are having your interview.
On the other hand, I know of someone who went to his local DO (Infopass) and got information about his background check. You can definitely try that.
I went to an Infopass yesterday and the lady had information about all of my cases.

Did your wife ever overstay her visa? Did she apply for AOS before she went out of status? Because if she never overstayed and she's got AP, you guys are free to travel without any problems, even if (God forbid) you were stuck in name check.
November is still far away, it could very well be that she will have her GC by then!

Actually its me applying for GC, my wife is an USC. I am still on H1-B visa.

I was in status when i applied for I-485 and still is upto 21st july (after 21st july i am quitting my job on H1-B Visa )
So i can freely travel in november?? Is that right??
