Transfer H1B and trip to India

I work with 'XYZ'. I got my H1-B in Aug'2005, which is a Multiple entry visa. It has been filed for extension in June'08, as it is expiring in Sept'2008. And the process of extension is going to be completed by Sept'08. After Sept'2008, I want to go to India and leave my Job at 'XYZ'. And get my H1-B transferred to another company 'ABC' in USA. I want to keep staying in India for 6-7 months because of some personal reasons, and then come back to USA with H1-B for 'ABC'.
a. Is it possible?
b. Do I need to get stamping done for ABC while coming back, while I would have 'XYZ' stamp in my passport?
c. Can I work for another company in India for 6-7 months?
d. If my duration in India extends for 2 years- can I still come back. If not, can I come for couple of months in between to keep my H1-B alive?

----------------if you get H1 Extension approval in September then let the new employer file H1 Transfer for you as you will be having Latest Pay stubs. then go out of US and request your new employer to send you H1 transfer approval. if at the time of Entry to US you have valid Visa stamp of XYZ in your passport then you can enter US and at POE show the valid Visa stamp AND H1 transfer approval and you will get I-94 till H1 transfer approval. If your Visa stamp through XYZ gets expired then get new H1 Visa stamp from US consulate and you will need H1 transfer approval notice.
After Sept'2008, I want to go to India and leave my Job at 'XYZ'. And get my H1-B transferred to another company 'ABC' in USA. I want to keep staying in India for 6-7 months because of some personal reasons, and then come back to USA with H1-B for 'ABC'.
