I am a permanent resident and travelling to switzerland this summer on vacation. I was interested in akeing a scenic train/boat ride on the "wilhem Tell express" which passes for around 30 miles through Italy. I do not need a visa to Switzerland but if I chose to take this trip would I need a visa to travel through Italy. ? The train spos ata Italian station and I have to change to take a bus to the Swiss city of Lugano. i could not find a answer on the Italian consulate's website. I am going to call the consulate on Monday but i was wondering whether anyone here has tried something similar.
