Traffic Tickets - Is Driving Record Date Important?

OK, it's fairly clear that traffic records/driving abstract are a must at the interview. I am in New York, and the DMV here has an option of ordering the driving abstract online. If, for instance, I order my abstract today, and my interview is not for another 6 months, will my driving abstract be deemed too old? In other words, should I wait closer to the interview to order one?

If you have not put down any tickets of the N400, then better to wait closer to the date of Interview and then get the abstract so you get everything you want to declare in one shot.

If you don't have any tickets, you don't need to provide a driving record. 99% of cases never require such things - its only needed when your IO starts to become a PITA.

Thanks for the info, guys. The tickets that I have are nothing serious, a couple of seat belt violations and a 12 year old "No Turn" violation. I just want to make sure that everything goes smoothly at the interview (which is a very long way off, being that I just applied in August). It would be a damn shame to get declined over something as silly as a couple of moving violations.

I too had a "No Turn" ticket for $124. It was the most expensive ticket I paid. (The cheapest was just 80 cents!) I mentioned all of my 6 lifetime tickets to the IO and it was not an issue.

Mine was back in the fall of 1995, I was still in high school back then. I also had several seat belt violations (no points), due to the fact that the NYPD has a ticket quota (something that they'll deny till they are blue in the face), and they actually set up seat belt checkpoints. It doesn't affect your driving record or insurance rates, but it's a $90 fine.
