Traffic Tickets: Certified Court Disposition Letter

Hello All,
I got two traffic tickets and I am trying to get "Certificed Court Disposition" letters from respective courts. When I went to one of them, they gave me an affidavit that gives information related to the traffic ticket. When I went to the other one, they have no idea on what I am talking about.

Some of you might have already taken these from local courts. When you went to the court, what did you ask for?

Thanks in advance.

Receits are good enough. If you don't trust USCIS IOs to be reasonable, then do not disclose them.

Thanks

Thank you WBH. I have the receipt but the problem with receipt is, it shows the total amount of $569.00. I got two tickets at the same time. One for "Running on Red Light" and other one for "Failure to Inspect". When I went to the court, they added the fees of both tickets and court fees. So total came to $569.00. If IO sees that amount, I am pretty sure that he will think that it is a serious offence where as it is not. I am just trying to get separate "Court Disposition letters" for both of them so that the amount will be less that $500.00.

Details

I got first traffic ticket in 2003: I got the affidavit for this . I got the second one (Moving violation plus failed to inspect) in 2006. I have the receipt for the second one but the total amount is $569.00.

They have to have something on it since it was on 2006, with the receipt number they should have a paid maybe itemized receipt that you can show. Try going to the clerk of courts website and typing your name to search for records, it might show something.

Sorry for the confusion

My apologies for not being clear. The court clerk told me that she doesn't know what "Court Disposition Letter" means. She didn't even check the system to see if this traffic ticket information is there in the system.

Generally if you didn't physically go to court then there isn't typically a Certified Court Disposition available. In most cases if you pay the fine by mail then you will not be able to get a Certified Court Disposition. You can however still get a Certified Letter from the issuing authority showing the fine has been paid

WOW she didn't know what a "court disposition" is? She should be fired, NOW! haha Siyaram, just go back to the clerk of courts and ask for a paid receipt or SOMETHING showing you are "clear" of this citation/ticket whatever is called and have them STAMP it with their official stamp. I did this for my tickets about 2 weeks ago, it is a printed screen that shows what the citation was for, the date, etc- all the information related to the fine.

Thanks

Thanks Wong. But I did attend the court. That is the reason I have a receipt for $569.00 (Moving Violation plus failure to inspect plus court fees). I am trying to get a separate "Court Disposition Letters" for Moving violation and failure to inspect so that total amount paid is less that $500.00 for each of them.

I don't want to show the receipt for $569.00 to IO because most of the IO's do not understand when we explain them that it includes two tickets fees and court fees.

Somewhere in there they have to have a file related to your case! (court documents ect) and on there should be the fees you paid itemized for each thing you paid for that day, that lady OBVIOUSLY didn't want to help you. Aks them for copies of all that and have them stamp them with their official stamp.

I had two traffic tickets too. I just went to the county court where I paid the ticket and asked the clerk to give a "court disposition of the the tickets" for immigration purpose. If questioned further, tell him/her that you are appearing for citizneship interview and that you need those documents during the interview. If he/she doesn't understand it, ask for speaking to a supervisor and explain it.

Some courts(say superior courts) in some states and even different counties
have their own procedures/docs. and some can not understand what is the so called court certified....etc.
When you go to them better take one copy of page 'USCIS Document check list for N400'
where in it is mentioned court cert.... to be submitted and explain to them.
Which may help. Then speak to supervisor.
