Guys

I got a ticket driving 13 over the speed limit. I already had my interview a few months ago, but havent gotten my oath done yet. Is this something I will be asked? Do I need to disclose this ticket? Any impacts on my citizenship?

Thanks.

The oath letter says you need to disclose it, but generally USCIS is not interested in minor traffic tickets. You may be asked to provide proof of payment if you disclose it.

It is a requirement on our part to disclose it as it is specifically mentioned on the oath letter. Whether USCIS is interested or not should be left to them. The best thing to do is pay the fine immediately, show the proof of payment during the oath. Nothing happens by disclosing the ticket.

You will be OK but the Oath Letter will be delayed by an appropriate time, during which you'll be driving like a newbie driving a Trabant, for fear of getting a(nother) ticket between Interview and Oath :D

(I'm not a very speedy guy but since Interview I've been driving exactly as above (even my kids are making fun of my timid driving). I've made friends with a whole new set of yellow traffic lights, too :eek::eek:)

Pay the ticket, have proof, and you'll be OK.
