Tracking Packet 3 sent back to consulate processing

Cannot track what has not happened......

Non of the p3 sent to NVC have interview dates as of this year, unless that happens ( I wouldnt hold my breath). There is frankly no point in trackiing anything. I am not being an ass****, just being realistic.

Also, whoever manages cptracker.com should change the columns as

they are not meant for the new process .....

NVC says they do not process I824 cases for India

Hi,

My 824 approval date is 7th feb. I called NVC and enquired about the same. After talking for long to the officer there, she called the supervisor.
Judy the supervisor told me in very clear terms that NVC does not process the I824 cases for India. We have to get in touch with the embassy there. But Chennai consulate asked us to get in touch with NVC.
PLS HELP. Are we in a big soup. Should we cancel all this and go thru the 485 route?
Thanks,
Kanaka

What??

One of my friends sent his completed P-3 to NVC in Jan \'02 and has his interview on March 21st.

As of today (3/18/02), it\'s only those who are currently sending it through St.Louis who are yet to hear back on the interview date.

My lawyers mailed my Pkt 3 (230+Money order) to St. Louis on 3/1/02. NVC informed that they are likely to receive it from St. Louis in about 2-3 weeks. After that, they take around 6-8 weeks to processs it and send it to the Consulate who in turn might take another 6-8 weeks to set up the interview.

TO KP Rajan

Hi,

The freind about whom you were talking about, did he send his Pkt 3 directly to the consulate or to St. Louis?

THanks

Calling NVC

1) When you call the NVC to enquire about cases what information do you need to provide them so that they can pull your case and look at your file. Since i have filed I-824 do i need to use that or the I-140 case number.

2) I filed for I-824 with NVC last november form Texas last november . It is still not been cleared. Anybody knows how much time NVC is taking to process such applications.

Use 824 receipt number

1. When calling NVC, use the 824 receipt number.

2. I 824 is approved by the INS (Texas Service center). After approval, the file is sent to NVC and it takes about 45 days-1 month for NVC to get in touch with you after it recieves your file.

If NVC does not have your case number, then you would have to followup with TSC.

Thanks,
Kanaka

Calling NVC & Tracking the case

This is the situation that I have been through.

FYI, I had a receipt date for I824 as of June 2001. After a long wait, they have moved my papers from teh INS center to NVC in May 2002. The wait period went from 60 days all the way to 235 days when trying to find the status.

I was always trying to find out the status of my case using my I-824 receipt number, but apparently, NVC does not recognize that number for tracking the cases. You have to quote the I-140 receipt number to track your cases. The I-824 number can be used to track the status at the respective INS centers only.

Thanks---I140 receipt number to be used

Thanks snysf. We were relieved to find our case with NVC today once we used our I140 receipt number.
Our lawyer kept insisting on 824 receipt number:-)

About 3-4 months

Time frame for Chennai is:
These timeframes are for CSC:

1. I 824 approval 3-4 months.
2. File transfer to NVC -- 4-5 months
3. NVC send you packet 3 -- 4-6 weeks
4. After Packet 3 recieved by NVC, NVC sends this packet to Chennai-- 6-8 weeks
5. Packet 3 recieved by Chennai and Interview date-- 2-3 months

Hope this helps,
Kanaka

No Title

Do you happen to what the current processing times are for the i-824 approval. I guess for people applying to Chennai consulate since AC-140 does not work I-824 needs to be approved.
