Lets track details about PCC from Washington DC Indian Consulate.
Looking to recent interview experiences it looks like PCC from consulate is sufficient if you are living in USA

Applied on 2/15/2002 ... they said that it will take 3 weeks ...
I called them up this week and they said that they haven\'t received the clearance from India but if I need it I can send my passport they will stamp it !!!!! So I have sent my Passport and they have stamped it ...

Ofcourse she said that after she said how much did I pay for it!!!!!!

I had paid $40 for it as I was told that is the fee ($20 for PCC and $20 for telex from India) ...
 
NVC update

case received on 2/21/02 and case created on 3/1/02 ..they said that they will take 4-6 weeks to send the packet 3.
 
snnt, few Qs

1) Whether your PP was last issued from DC consulate? If not which
   one was your RPO
2) Did you sent your original PP with application?

$$$They are getting better now $$$$$$

From April 2 there will be 2 counters at indian Embassy at Washington DC and yeah ...pretty faces too ;-)

So one can get the visa stuff by 1:00 PM if deliverd by 10:00am

Heard that if one does not get the PCC in 21 days from India they will issue on their behalf.....
