Tougher US immigration leading to 'reverse brain-drain'

they said....1 in 5 are returning...

still lot of brains left here in US. :)

in my opinion report is for lobbyists :)

Reverse Brain Drain

The fact that reverse brain drain is happening is quite true. I know a few people from India that have gone back to India after getting their GC's / Citizenships in the US. I don't think the reverse brain has much to do with the fact that the US Immigration policy is flawed. I know there are problems but keep in mind, they have one of the most generous immigration policies among the developed nations.
It definitely is flawed, but still better than most.
Anyways, I think the real reason for the reverse brain drain is the fact that the economy is moving fast in India and China. It seems like most of the technology jobs are moving back there and it makes more sense for some people to stay back in their home country and help their economy.

Certainly there is a reverse brain drain. But mostly it is because of economy growth in india and china as mentioned by some other post. I personally know, few of my friends who spent 15 years in this country and had their GC for long time went back to india. Few more are waiting for their US citizenship before moving to their home country. They are doing it to ease their international travel from their home country.

my 2 cents :)

Its good that some people are coming front and giving those information to get awareness
but in reverse if these lobbyists think if we give GCs to these brain-drain people then why they are going back to their home countries???

if everyone who got their GCs or US citizenships , went back to their home country then these lobbyists will have t othink the other way

any thoughts????

Write a letter to Condoleezza Rice regarding visa issues:-
If we all write a letter and state department and they receive thousand letters may be somebody pay attention.
We can find address from state website.I am not able to find out FAX.
Do any body have their FAX NO ,that will be easy
Any idea.

That sounds like a good idea!! If the "sending flowers" trick worked, maybe this will work too!! Moreover, it doesn't cost much to send a fax...
I second the idea!! Lets do it

Group 1:

If persons going to india/China after getting GC/Citizenship - May not be considered as brain drain.... they might have left for pleassure( think ing better life in india )/personal reasons

Group 2:

If persons are going back to INDIA/China due to - Lack of GC/Visa Issues/Did not find Job/Citizenship/Better Technology/Better opportunities - might be considered in brain drain flock.

In my experience... I never heared chinese IT prefessional went back to China !!!

Guys :-
Here we go:-

Anybody have FAX no of STATE department.

ATTN: MORE VISA Request for EB2 and EB3 :I-485.

Dear, Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of State,

Hereby I am requesting an MORE VISA FOR processing I-485 application to Adjust Status due to the following reason:

1) The processing of my application has been unreasonably delayed and at this moment is at least 26 months overdue. My 485 RD XXXXX and is pending Texas Service Center because of NO VISA .TSC is processing October 26, 2006 as per USCIS website.
2) All outside checks have been completed one or more years ago. Confirm from the TSC-IO / FBI on the status of my record check. I have completed the fingerprinting code1 on XXXXX.
3) Any further delays of my case will cause a FIFTH extension of Employment Authorization and Travel Documents .We have done THIRD fingerprint on XXXX at charlotte ASC office. ASC office is XXX miles one way from my house and we need to take work off that day due to this process .Me and wife went 6 times last 3 and half years for EAD and I-485 fingerprint.
4) The letter received from Service Center on XXXXX that stated that I would hear from your center in XXXX days was ungrounded and wasn't followed by any action and therefore can be qualified as an obvious error on the part of the Service.
5) These delays have affected my family and me directly and severely. Also my Adjustment of Status (AOS) application has been pending since XXXXXX receipts no: - XXXXXXX and for my wife XXXXXXX. Overall, my permanent residency application has been pending since [PD: - XXXXXX]. I am not an illegal alien and have maintained legal status every single day of my stay in the United States. Adjudication of my AOS application will be one of the most important events in my life and lives of my family members. It is unfortunate that this ill-conceived security check causes so much harassment to many genuine law abiding applicants who mean no harm and are waiting to call this great nation home. I request you to evaluate the Adjustment of Status (AOS) application (I-485) procedures for me and for my wife on an urgent basis. We shell be very much thankful to you.

Thank you,
Yours sincerely,

Nice work man, keep it up
now we have to find the fax number
all the best folks
