It is coming down your understanding of nunc pro tunc. Today, I went to local immigration. they told me that an appointment date has not been set for me. Also, the guy told me that it may take up to a year before they can schedule for me. Here Are my questios. I am trying to write to the San Francisco Asylum office. In the paper I am trying to make a request.

First, is it possible if ask that they transfer my case to sub office. There are two sub-asylum offices in my city.

Second, if that is not possible can I ask if they can schedule the interview at San Francisco so that I may travel there to do the interview.

Third. what do you think that I do at this time. 75 days have lapsed and no date set. and the reason is partly they normally wait for enough people to apply so that they can travel. what do you think?

Thanks Thanful: I think you are out somewhere. I have draffted my inquiry and will send it in the morning. so ignore my postings. :) :)

Faysal,
absolutely go for it, try... but i think that if you are asking them to do for your case anything out of the ordinary, i am afraid you won't get a response. i would definitely send an inquiry letter, see what's up with your case, and why you didn't get an interview yet. surprisingly i was called pretty fast....

good luck to you, keep us posted.

Hey there,

First of all you should not expect people to read and reply to internet postings at ungodly hours!!!!!!! :) :) :) I am addicted to this board, but not to that extent.

As to your questions, there are no such things as asylum suboffices. There are only like 8 or 9 asylum offices around the country.

Yes you can ask to be interviewed in SF (at your expenses of course).

I understand thanful. There some times in the past that you give me an instant response, but I think that was coincidence. Also, I made extra-research, and there is not sub offices. The ones I though were sub offices were for USCIS. Any way thanks alot. I have sent all my inquiries, and I am waiting their response.
