My question it is this:

My sponsor AIPT got rid of the second copy of my IAP-66 after three years. I am in the coputer system as a venezuelan trainee which worked in a HILTON hotel. I've got the J-1 visa since I was doing my intership for 16 months in Hotel Business. As I said I did not get any funds from the USA goverment or mine. I've called the AIPT who gave me the IAP-66 to get my visa in Venezuela they refuse to give me a letter that states that I DO NOT owe money to either goverment. They supposely don't know eventhough I am registered in their computer sytem. This is a real mess with that irresponsible people who get rid of papers after 3 years of being issued. I really don't know what do do. When the IAP-66 is missing I need to ask for a STATEMENT LETTER that says I do not owe money to either USA goverment or venezuelan goverment, that I did an intership from 1998 through 1999 (16 mos.), where (HILTONHOTEL)and that they(AIPT ) have a no objection with me getting a waiver I CAN NOT submit the J WAIVER APPLICATION TO THE USIA. AIPT sponsed me because I PAID them 1800 US $ in order to work in the HILTON HOTEL for 16 months.
DO you know a good attorney?

No, I don't know any specific lawyer who could be helpful on J-visa matter. Even if you have a lawyer, you still will need the documents that are needed anyway.

Best wishes,
