I have a very good offer for an entry level mechanical engineer position from a multinational company.the salary they are offering is very low (30,000 with all the benefits). The company lawyer is saying the company has to increase the salary to atleast 40K for such a case.
I desperately need this job.what is the minimum wage for such a job?.Is there any way the company can justify this salary by lowering the designation to Assistant Engineer or something?.Is there a work around this issue.

Please help...

Of course, the above links are very useful and they are the ones that I use, but it is possible that the company wants to use a different survey (these are not the only ones that can be used for a salary survey) and it is also possible that the company has a wage determination by SESA and that would be controlling.

I'm only pointing this out since it is not a good idea to look it up and then go to the employer and say the attorney is wrong since it "ain't necessarily so".
