I am past 180 days since applying for I-485 based on employment. Currently I am working based upon my EAD. These are my questions:

1. If I move to a new employer in the same job category, do I really have to inform INS?

2. All my papers are handled and processed by my company's lawyer. If I hire a new lawyer to process whatever paper work is needed for the employer change, will the inter-lawyer transfer of the papers be a seamless process, or can I expect problems?

3. Filing I-28 paper: what kind of privilege does that give the company lawyer other than to represent my case? Do I need to revoke this I-28 status to the lawyer to take the case away from him/her?

4. If I do not inform INS and further on I get approved, I guess they will inform my lawyer (from the old company) and he is not obligated to inform me. Could that be one reason why I should hire another lawyer when job change takes place?

I will highly appreciate if some experts here can answer these questions. Thanks a bunch

1. No, as of dec20, 2002. INS is supposed to come out with regulations
2. New lawyer will file G28. It is seamless
3. Mere filing of another G28 will revoke the previous privileges
4. you SHOULD hire another lawyer. But if you feel confident about your legal hat, you can just send a letter stating that you are self representing and you have fired the lawyer.
