W u like to tell me if it is useful to contact the local senator?
My case is more than 18 months, I am very anxious.
If it is useful, how to contact the senator? What kind of document should we provide to him/her?
Appreciate your input.

My lawyer contacted the senator in the following way:

Called the senators offices and talked to the one responsible for immigration.
He agree to follow the case as 540 days have expired and faxed the necessary forms he needed to intervene.
Lawyer sent back the different receipts from BCIS and a one page description of my case together with the consent form. Senators office promised response in 30-40 days.
It may or may not work, but at least you feel that "all stones has been turned".

I don't want to affend you but don't you see that VSC is now processing December cases ? The jan'02 approvals are only an aberration. 80% of the approvals we are seeing are December cases. There are still thousands of people with Dec'01 RD. I guess most of them will be cleared by end of August. The only people who should really be worried now are the ones with Nov'01 RD and earlier. So please relax, wait for 1 more month and i am sure your approval will come any day within a month or two.

I spoke with an IIO yesterday and the official time for 485 is 19 months...so nothing to worry yet....you can start worrying in a couple of months time...unless the time frame changes again....
