hi, dengdeng:

Congrats on your digging out the real reason for your delay, I knew from one of these threads that your congressman office helped you in this issue, I just wonder, is your congressman a powful one?

my case has been pending with NSC for 23 months :(, and rfe response was received 5 months ago, never changed address or employment. checked status several times through my congressman(they send email to NSC), always got the same answer, security check not done.

after reading your story, I wonder whether that is just the general answer that BCIS would give to most congressmen, they didn't actually check my case at all. now my finger print expired, not received 2nd FP notice yet.

I don't know what my congressman office can do at this point, would you give me some suggestion or tell me a little more about your experience working with your congressmen office?

Congressman and senators are same powerful on this. But if they
call the VSC or write to VSC is quite different. First time I contacted my congressman office, I didn't go there. So she only wrote an email to VSC. The answer was standard "pending, wait 30 more days". This time I went there personally, and explained my concerns, pain, she said she would call the VSC instead of sending email. Be sure to ask for this.

Tell the congressman office your case has been delayed, other ppl same date with you all get approved. You're concerned.
Just be polite and don't

If you are married, the whole family go there is better than you alone.

Thanks, dengdeng

for your reply, I will try to go there with my family and see if it works, there is still another thing bothering me though, if I go there without making an appointment, the person who is in charge of this issue may not be there, but if I make an appointment, she might now even want me there. I can't go there everyday to see whether she is available, the congressmen office is not close to my place, about 1.5 hours driving distance.
what did you do?

Thanks a lot!

davli, I called the congressman's office before I went there, not because I wanted to make an appointment, but actually I wanted to check if she would be there on the day I visited. Then someone tranferred me to her, I had to talk to her and gladly she said it's ok to visit the office. So I visited.

Other people just go there directly. I don't know if you should try, but for this serious thing, I would say driving 1.5 hours well worth it. Right?

also, maybe your congressman's office is kind enough to call for you even if you don't visit the office personally? that happened to several ppl. ask around which congressman/senator is best choice for you

Thank a lot, pal

I thought that only the congressman who is actually represent my county, according to the zip code I guess, would help me,
should I try some other congressmen, will they help? how about the senator from other states, will they help too?

Hi, dengdeng! Can you give us the link describing your situation? I want to know the reason for your delay but not sure which post is about this. Thanks!

Hello,

My RD is 12/10/2001, is it too early to contact Congressman/Senator?

My I485 was filed along with my spouse and child and we did 2nd FP three weeks ago. The online status changed after our 2nd FP expect me (principal applicant).

I made a case inquiry 1.5 months back and got a written reply saying "case is pending", not sure if my case has assigned to an officer or not. Do you have any ideas?
