First of all I'm very sorry for all who thought they won and now learn about the news...
Second, receiving the NL doesn't guarantee that you will receive the GC...you have to pass certain stages and qualify entirely. We all have read of people who have some issues in the past or will not qualify due to job, funding, background, etc.
Third.....Forget about asking any Congressman/woman to sign a bill to give you amnesty and receive the GC. Ther reason; because they never know if you will vote for them so why would they go out of their way to do something that in the first place is not a polpulair lottery amongst many American's...specially the unemployed ones!
Nobody will know where the GC winners will go and live and none may end up going to live where the Congressman/woman lives...so just use common sense instead of getting all exited by talk of a few who can't handle their frustration and come up with all kind of things that will never work and letting you to believe that you still have a chance.
I didn't read the small print but their might even be something in there that protects the DV lottery against any liability and to sue them you have to be in the USA. Which lawyer will defend 22,000 people who probably have just enough money to qualify to pass the GC requirements and some of them might never qualify. Who of the 22,000 is going to pay for the legal cost to sue in civil court. A lawyer easily charges $ 300-$ 500 per hour...so start saving if that is what you want. Filing fees on top of that and for all the mailing to all 22,000 it will be a lot of money that needs to be paid...Really start saving a lot of money because some one needs to pay for it and this is not a money lottery so no money will be won in the end and the lawyer will not work for free!
If you sign a petition you have to do that with your real name not with some kind of nick name...that will not be worth anything...Mickey Mouse has already voted too many times in the elections over here.
There is a E2 petition which is signed over hundred thousand times and nothing has changed for people on E2 visa's and this is going on for years. E2 visa holders start a business and provide jobs to Americans and still they have no path to a GC...even Congressman/woman are involved and nothing has been changed.
With the DV lottery you also have the deadline of the end of Sept...so use your common sense and act like American's ....pick up after doom day and start over and believe in yourself and your dream...if it is meant to be than you will win again or go to the USA on a different visa...
Living in the USA is great but not for every one...Nobody is waiting over here for you, specially with so many unemployed so you better make sure you be special and/or creative or you will have a hard life over here....
Movies are nice and sometimes it is like living in a movie...but not all movies are showing the rich, some people will always live below average...which could be you.
Again I understand how hard it is and how sick you feel about this...but than again reading about someone who doesn't know what his wife will do to herself, makes me sick...people like that don't belong here at all, they need to be checked out in a mental hospital.
The couple that thought theyn had won over 3 million last month in a lottery in the USA and later found out the winning number was misprinted in the newspaper, didn't get a dime and they know they won't...no lawsuit will help them since it is in the small print....and their number matched the winning number...that was only one winning number and they get zip!
You don't get money, just a chance to move to round 2...and many never fill it out because at that time they realize how much it cost, how much their life will change and start to realize if they even qualify.
