Guys,

My observation: there is an increasing number of people who asks questions which they should have answers for, if they take about 15 minutes to thoroughly read filing instructions. As such, I am concerned that those same people are taking some of the answers, which are given out of the sincerity of the hearts by members, to wrongly complete the form and suffer in the process.

In addition, there are people who are just plain lazy, they want you to
spoonfeed all the answers, even take them on their bed to the AOS interview, whilst you answer all their questions for them, they enjoy cereal in bed, in front of an immigration officer. :(

Some of the most interesting (if not st..) questions I have seen recently include:

How much is the filing fee for an EAD? Can I use my EAD to travel? I want to reschedule my interview because I'll be out of town, what do I need to do? I got an RFE, what do I need to do? I didn't file the correct fee, can I send the check now, just ask USCIS to look for my forms? Can I bring my girlfriend or boyfriend on a tourist visa and then get married? Oh... I work under the table, should I tell USCIS? I also see an increase in people who are just whiners, complain about each and every little thing under the sun.

A classic example, the Aussie guy in Key West, Florida comes to mind, he has been out of status for 6 yrs, and he doesn't want help, just to use the board to complain and explain how poor he's that he couldn't afford to pay for the fees. For 6 yrs? I wonder why he didn't file for a fee waiver, the forms are clear on the process. At times, I wonder about the truthiness of some of our fellow board members. I hope we can ignore some of these questions, because they don't help anyone, just cut short the work which these people are supposed to do in terms of reading instructions before filing...

I agree! ;) It does seem as if a lot of people don't even read the basics. I can understand language barriers and certain concerns but what I and my spouse did was research, research, research before we started asking the particulars. We did have several situations in which we should proceed cautiously and wanted affirmation but not to ask what is simply stated on the forms or information that even the customer service representatives at USCIS are willing to tell you (how about just dialing the number and listening to the recordings. A lot of questions can be answered by doing that.!!! ).

sorry my posts seem to be such an inconvenience to you! I DID research and HAD a lawyer do my papers. I am not complaining or whining about an RFE, just simply looking for advice. If you are tired of it, then why be on this site????????

Hi:

I agree with you 100%. Hence a few of my responses to some people to read the forms carefully and to use Google.

I never mind answering questions people still have after researching something in good faith, provided that 1) I know the answer or a likely answer and 2) it is ethical to answer the question.

But if you want every little detail spelled out, I can refer you to a good attorney who will charge you for that kind of detail.
