TN Visa with only 3 year Cegep D.E.C.

Hello all,

I've been living in Quebec my whole life and have just applied for a job in the US and am on the verge of accepting it. I've discussed with the company before that I do not have a BA from university, and have only a DEC from a Quebec CEGEP. It is a 3 year technical degree (as opposed to a 2 year pre-university degree) in computer science.

The job is a very technical one, and I have 5 years of experience in the field.

Should there be any concern about not being able to obtain a TN and/or eventually an H1-B Visa?

A 3 year Cegep D.E.C. is what the American companies refer to as an associates degree. The USCIS calls it a 2-year post-secondary diploma/certificate.

You can qualify for some TN categories (like Computer Systems Analyst) with just an associates degree and 3 years of realted experience.

Most TN categories require a BA.

Is there somewhere I can see the list of TN categories / requirements?

Also, are the requirements similar for H1-B?
