TN Visa - Hotel Manager

Hi!

I am trying to get more information regarding the TN Visa - Hotel/Restaurant Manager. I am a Canadian Citizen with 7 years experience in restaurant, a diploma in Hospitality Management and event experience. Does the TN Visa only apply to the Hotel Manager position and no other manager position in the hotel? For example, I’m applying to positions in the Catering/Event Management area. Would the TN Visa be applicable to this? I’ve read about the Restaurant Manager needing to be in the actual hotel to be eligible.

I’ve also read a lot of the H-1B, J-1 and L Visas but I am just overwhelmed with all the information.

If you were employed by a hotel, managing whatever department in the hotel, this would qualify.

Thank you so much!! I should be letting these employers know during the interview process that I am eligible for the TN Visa instead of H-1B since it’s much faster and the sponsor process isn’t as long and I can start as soon as I’m done at the port of entry?

yes. You need to educate them on TN.
