TN Visa Holder. What document do you show overtime you re-enter the US

I have a TN visa for over 2 years. 2 of the 10 times I travelled back to the states (through airport), the officers complained that showing the TN stamp on my passport was not enough to enter and that I should have a Visa.
I have no idea what they are talking about and what they are asking for. I always show them the recent I-94. How can I prove my TN status beyond a printed I-94 or stamps on my passport?

Assuming you are Cdn, the officer should know that Cdns don't need visas. That is CBP 101. Next time they ask that, ask to see their supervisor, so the officer can be sent for refresher training.

Your TN is in the system if they want to look for it. Your I-94 is enough proof. If he had asked about proof of still being employed, a recent paystub or your badge would suffice, but they didn't ask for that.

And remember, they can "complain" or warn you all they want, but if they let you in, you didn't need it. And if they did let you in and you needed visa, they should have been fired. So, you have nothing to worry about.

It is all in their system, based on your passport number. Showing your I-94 card and your passport are enough.
I have had them ask who do you work for, what do you do, what kind of engineer are you, etc.
They have all that information in the system so I believe they are just checking your answers vs what is showing in the system.
They can ask for confirmation that you are still working for your employer, ask to see you company ID card, and/or recent pay stubs, but I have never been asked for that.
They let you in the country, so you are fine. Don't worry about it. Some CBP officers can be difficult, just smile and nod.
