TN Visa- Company Acquired by another firm

I am on TN visa and my current employer was acquired by another organization. No change in position/role/responsibility for me. Can I continue working for new employer on current TN from prior employer until new company files I-129? Is there a grace period for such transitions?
 
No need for any extra filing. The new firm has assumed all assets, debts and responsibilities of the old. Simply get a new TN at the normal time nearing expiry of this one.
 
Thanks. However, isn't TN status employer specific? Also, the old company name is stamped in my passport.
