TN visa change jobs

Hi,

I'm currently on a TN visa and I was wondering what would be the best route for changing employers (ie. getting a new TN visa). I didn't know if it would be better to use the I-129 form (with premium processing) or go to the border. My big concern with going to the border is having the new TN visa declined. If it were declined would I still be able to come back accross the border on my original TN? How likely are they to decline the TN visa if I already have a TN visa? I'm only 6 months in my current 3 year TN visa and am in the Accountant category and have a CPA designation.

Thanks

As long as your current job still exists, and you are an accountant, your current TN wil not be pulled just for having a new one denied on some technical reason. The only way that would happen was if you yourself have become disqualified for any TN (like for criminal record or immigrant intent).

It's cheaper and faster for you to go to border. make sure you keep your first TN I-94 until you actually quit that job.

Okay thank you. I'm also under the understanding that my wife and son (currently on TD status) don't need to accompany me if I were to go to the border even if my TN status was renewed for a new 3 year period, is that correct?
