TN to H1B - Job Title Question

Hello,

I got my TN in 2015. The job title on the letter was shown as "Senior Financial Accountant". I am applying for H1B lottery for April. My job title internally is "Senior Reporting Analyst".

So when i submitted my resume with the application, i have Senior Reporting Analyst because that is what my official title is with the company. The lawyer is telling me to change my title to match the TN title, "Senior Financial Accountant". What should my title be on my Resume for H1B application? Does TN letter title even matter? does it have to match with H1B title?

To change my title internally from SRA to SFA, it would take a lot of process to create a change etc (so its not an easy proces), i don't think it matters but what do i know..

If the lawyer wants to change your title, they need to discuss with your management and HR.
Your job title meant absolutely nothing when you got TN, since it was based on a TN category and job description, not title.
So changing your job title to one that meant nothing before sounds like something a lawyer who knows nothing about TN would say.
