TN to H-1B - Delayed clock

I am on TN and will be applying for H1B, because i will be applying for EB1 later. I was told by my lawyer since I140 goes with EB1, it could impact on my renewal of TN.

Anyways, the real question is, how i can I maximize the use of TN (which is still valid for 2.5 years), and not start clock for H1b. At the same time i do not want to delay H1b application since now is the time (H1b are available).

thanks for your response in anticipation

The I-140 approval does not affect TN renewal. Since you are EB1, you will get your green card before the expiry of your TN (since you have a 3 year TN)

You and your lawyer lawyer should focus on EB1 and he should stop wasting time trying to pad his account with a useless H1B petition.

Thanks nelsona.

I only reason I was worried was because two totally different told me that I-140 will affect my future renewals of TN. Well, both of them were lawyers.

I could not find much info about people succeeding in TN renewal after I-140, so I was a bit concerned.

So, I will go with EB1, and see what happens. EB2 with perm is the option if EB1 doesn't succeed.
